    NORTH PACIFIC CONTINUUM

The amplitude time series for the 24 North Pacific (SLP) cluster patterns in Johnson and Feldstein (2009). [TXT]
This data is for the winter season, defined as the months of December through March. Please see Johnson and Feldstein (2009) for information on the methodology and the spatial structure of each of the cluster patterns (Fig. 1).

The amplitude time series for the 24 North Pacific (SLP) cluster patterns for September through November. [TXT]

In the above datasets, the first three columns are the dates, followed by the 24 amplitude time series.

    IDEALIZED CLIMATE MODELS

Data from the seven idealized climate model runs of Son and Lee (2005) [PDF], Son and Lee (2006) [PDF], and Son et al. (2008) [PDF]

These model runs, referred to CS1, CS2,..,CS7, correspond to those combinations of the cooling and heating parameters, C and H, that are located along the diagonal in Fig. 4 of Son and Lee (2005) and Fig. 1 of Son and Lee (2006).

                POLAR MOTION

           Steven Feldstein

The (a) pole position for December 1999 and (b) the pole position for the same month as determined by integrating the equatorial bulge torque forward in time. The degree of similarity between (a) and (b) is a measure of the extent to which polar motion is driven by the weather. The colors red, green, and blue indicate the first, middle, and last 10 ten days of the month, respectively. The units on the axes are mas (milliarcseconds), where 1.0 mas ~ 3.0 cm.
