These are land use/land cover maps downloadable as zipped image files (.img) for use with ERDAS Imagine. These 12 watersheds are all located in southeastern Pennsylvania and were the basis of the study from which the modules were developed. Each map has 6 land classes:

1 = dense development
2 = less dense development
3 = bare land
4 = forest
5 = vegetated
6 = water

The maps were generated using a supervised classification scheme with multi-spectral Landsat TM images. "Dense development" typically represents downtown areas, commercial development and major roads. "Less dense development" typically represents residential areas. These distinctions were made by eye, not based on impervious surface measurements. Both of these developed classes can be combined as urban for the SLEUTH model, while "bare land" and "vegetated" can be lumped together as agriculture. All images are at 25-meter spatial resolution with a UTM map base (spheroid Clarke 1866, datum NAD27, zone 18). As with any of this work, questions should be addressed to tnc@essc.psu.edu.
